This rare set of 1880’s mottled green and white tiles came from the Hingham, MA home of U.S. Rep. Charles E. Stevens, who built his home in 1884. They make up a full surround and hearth set, a difficult thing to find when using salvaged antique tile. The tiles were made in England.

  • The surround of this set measures 42” wide by 36” tall. The breastplate is 6” in height; the surround sides are 6” wide.

    The hearth measures 60” wide by 20” tall. This set can be reworked based on your dimensions, so reach out for a custom design.

    • Ready for install: fully cleaned

    Typical of their age, they may have some pits and flea bites, but are in good condition. 

    All tiles are fully checked for cracks or chips, any tiles that do not meet our installation standards are not placed in inventory.
