1890s Ornate Floral Victorian Tile Frieze
This circa 1890s Victorian tile frieze features nine tiles stacked in an ornate design, measuring 16” tall without grout.
Each section of the frieze is anchored by a beautiful 6 x 9” American Encaustic Tiling Company figural scroll and floral frieze. This is surrounded by a pair of rich mauve 1 x 6” field tiles, followed by ½ x 6” figural liner tiles. The third tiles out from the figural tile is another rich mauve tile featuring a swag and bow design. The frieze is completed by another row of the ½ x 6” liner tiles.

Shipping
All tiles are shipped via UPS Ground with standard insurance and tracking for $26, with an additional $7 per linear foot. All items are sold as is with no warranties expressed or implied.

Full frieze is 16” x 552”, close to 50 total linear feet available.
These tiles can be used in several applications, including in a kitchen, bathroom, vestibule, or fireplace. The tiles feature a beautiful crazing indicative of their age.

All tiles are fully checked for cracks or chips, any tiles that do not meet our installation standards are not placed in inventory.

An impossibly rare set of tiles from an 1890’s New York City butcher shop has come to the Storied Salvage workshop! These tiles were salvaged more than two decades ago and have lived in boxes since. We purchased these from a supplier in California before having them carefully trucked across the country.
